This sheet of markings was put out to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Wild Weasel missions. To make it an even better set, they brought back the markings from their “First of the Weasels” set. Markings for the external weapons and pods are also included so you can model the F-16 as it looked when it was rolled out for the anniversary.

The F-16C block 50 represented is:

  • SN 92-0920, 20th Fighter Wing, June 5, 2015, 50th Anniversary WW

Here is a list of the F-4s. They are from the 18th TFW Nov 1972:

  1. 64-0840, “Super Cocks Swiss Samlar”
  2. 63-7474, “Brain Damage”
  3. 63-7470, “Rub-A-Dub-Dub”
  4. 63-0791, “Squirrely Bird”
  5. 63-7423,”Jail Bait”

I’ve always been impressed by the different anniversary paint schemes that all of the services put on a selected aircraft. It makes for a nice eye catching display instead of everything being all drab and plain. This aircraft truly is an eye catcher with that weasel on the tail. It will make a nice addition in my display case.

The decals are “proudly printed by MicroScale”. They are thin, they are in register, and they go on the model smoothly. The decals held up well and worked nicely with the recommended Micro Set and Micro Sol. I smoothed them out using a wet, soft Testers brush to remove any bubbles and get it into the right place. Some other brands of decals would either break apart or lock in place causing a lot of grief but these were sturdy and worked very well causing no head aches.

The instruction sheets were very good. There were 2, 8 1/2 x 11 double sided color sheets that have the paint colors listed, placement, and what model kits are available. Twobobs decals always are well researched and you can tell that a lot of time and care are involved in their planning.

Very Highly Recommended

I really do enjoy using Twobobs decals because of how well they work and I find myself going to their web site just to see what sets are coming out so I can see if I have that particular needed kit in my stash.

Thanks to IPMS/USA and Twobobs for letting me use and review these decals.
