F-16C/D Wheels
Brungen produces a wide range of unique resin and photo-etch accessories in 1/32, 1/48, 1/72 as well as 1/144. This wheelset is cast with zero flash and prominent pour blocks up half the wheels. The finish is slightly textured but realistic and raised lettering is visible however the wording cannot be read. In this scale, reading the tire should not be an issue to most modelers.
These wheels are for the heavyweight gear found on Block 40/42 and 50/52. Earlier Block 25 and 30/32 which have the lightweight landing gear use a narrower gear with different vents on the rim. The tires have the correct number of grooves (tread) in the tires and the depth is realistic as compared to reference photos. Each tire has a notable and nice expanded section for weight on wheels. Each wheel is a single part, unlike other resin sets that are multiple pieces which keeps it simple. Depending on your kit, the hub may need to be opened up or drilling the hub deeper to attach to your landing gear. Brake calipers and tie sown ring is clearly visible the left and right wheel is easily noticeable with the tie down “clocked” correctly relative to the ground.
This is a basic but very nice set of wheels. Being a single piece wheel/rim, it saves all the complications wheels from other companies. The modeler may want to deepen the tread as well as the rim join to the tire surface. Thanks to IPMSUSA for letting me review these wheels, and thanks to Brungen for providing this very nice accessory.

I have been building models since at least 8 years old and with a brief break after high school, model building started again late in college. My preferred subjects are aircraft of all eras and scales but a majority of my builds are 1/48 scale. I am the son of a USAF navigator who flew tactical airlift in Vietnam then his last 8 years he served at Altus AFB where he retired. My love of aircraft comes naturally and try to build subjects that I have a personal connection to. My day job parallels the hobby where I design full flight simulators ranging from small corporate jets, military fighter jets to the C-17. I hold a commercial pilot certificate and fly as a volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol. I really enjoy flying cadets, passing on the love of flight and inspiring future aviators.
