Bomber Aircraft of 305 Squadron is a photographic history of the 305 Weilkopolski Polish bomber squadron. The book is dedicated to Gabriel Milosz, who served as a photographer for the 305 squadron from its formation until its disbandment. Milosz's photographs capture the aircraft used by the 305 Squadron as well as the crews before and after the, often tragic, missions. He also captured the mechanics, armorers, and daily life of the Polish squadron. The photographs are black-and-white, while the illustrated aircraft profiles are in full-color.

From the back of the book:

This is the illustrated history of the aircraft of the successful Polish bomber squadron flying for the RAF during WWII. No. 305 'Weilkopolski' squadron was a Polish bomber squadron, which originally served is a night bomber squadron, then in 1943 converted to daylight operations, and ended the war is a low-level specialist bomber squadron.

The book’s chapters are organized around the aircraft used by the 305 Squadron:

  • “Instead of the Dedication”
  • “305 Squadron Origins”
  • “Fairey Battle”
  • “Vickers Wellington IA & IC”
  • “Vickers Wellington II”
  • “Vickers Wellington IV”
  • “Vickers Wellington X”
  • “N.A. Mitchell Mk II”
  • “D.H. Mosquito FB.VI”

Each chapter of the book includes many photographs of the featured aircraft, often with the flight crew and ground crew posed in front. Many of the aircraft are shown after forced or crashed landings. There are nice photographs of the aircrew with their uniforms. In addition, many detailed photographs of the ground crews maintaining aircraft equipment, including arming the aircraft, are featured.

The book includes numerous descriptions of the markings and camouflage schemes of the aircraft. Also included are new color profiles of each of the aircraft, showing the markings and camouflage patterns. Detailed examples of nose art and other markings for the aircraft are highlighted. At the end of the book there are a few photographs taken after the war of captured German aircraft and a V1 rocket launch facility.

This is a very thorough photographic essay, and it is a valuable resource for modelers interested in the various aircraft flown by the 305 squadron. Additionally, this book is a must have for those interested in the Polish Air Force serving with the RAF during World War II.
