Images of War US Naval Aviation 1945-2003Published:
OverviewIn this highly-illustrated second volume of his history of US Naval Aviation, Leo Marriott takes the reader through the extraordinary developments in design and capability that transformed American aircraft and aircraft carriers after the Second World War. He describes the succession of conflicts in which they were deployed. Increasingly advanced jets replaced propeller-driven aircraft, and nuclear-powered carriers allowed the US Navy to project American military power across the world. As the many remarkable photographs in this book show, wherever naval aviation was involved, it played a crucial role, especially in the Korea and Vietnam wars. The vessels built in the 1940s to fight in the war against Japan gave way to a new generation of super carriers.… more |

The Grumman E-2 HawkeyePublished:
Phoenix Publications The Grumman E-2 Hawkeye is a paper back, has 96 pages and is full of great photos of the Hawkeye. The history of the E-2 Hawkeye is quite extensively covered from the original idea to the variants that have been built, to today’s serving aircraft. Included in the book is a section devoted to the international service of the Hawkeye and a detailed walkaround as highlights of the book. The last section of the book covers building the Kenetic E-2C 1/48 scale model and shows three different nationality versions, the United States, French and Mexican Navy builds. This is my kind of book, filled with lots of glossy colored images of the airplane and not a whole lot of writing. All the photos are high quality and a joy to look at. I recommend the… more |

F-105 Scale PlansPublished:
In the BookThere are no chapters in this book. It’s contents are only 3 view drawings of the F-105 in 1/72 scale. Depicted in the drawings are the
The first set of drawings also include all the fuselage formers AA through GG. Given that the book is only 3 view drawings and has 8 pages there is not a lot to write about. If you are a 105 fan than this would be something to add to your collection. This book would be a definite must if you are building a model true to scale and reference material. The drawings are high quality and very detailed. SummaryI want to thank Casemate and IPMS/USA for the opportunity to review the publication. |
