Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero

Published:
Company: Revell

Manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the A6M5 Zero was a long range fighter aircraft flown by the Imperial Japanese Naval Air Service. Its first flight was on April 1st 1939 and entered service on July 1st 1940. More than ten thousand Zero aircraft were built.

Revell brings us another easy and fun to build kit. Being a skill level 2 kit, detail is a bit sparse in the cockpit department. It consists of only a pilot figure and a decaled instrument panel. Regardless, of the lean detail, this is a great little kit. The Zero is moulded in grey, and panel lines and detair are raised.

The kit went together nicely, and the fit of all parts were very precise. Other than some very minor "flash"on a few of the parts, the only predicament I encountered were the 4 small… more

U.S. Moon Ship

Published:
Company: Round 2 Models

The U.S.Moon Ship is Round 2 Models first release, after having been originally released by Lindberg Models in 1958. It was subsequently re-released a couple more times in the decades that followed and was based on space flight concepts of the era.

The kit is pretty simple and straight forward consisting of only 41 pieces, including 1 transparent red sprue and 2 sprues molded in white in addition to the main components of the space craft. There is an easy to follow instruction sheet, and 1 sheet of decals.

The build was simple and quick, and other than some minor issues with getting the large star decals to conform to the shape of the hull, it was an enjoyable endeavor having been completed in two evenings at the "bench".

I would most certainly recommend this… more

Messerschmitt Me410A-1 High Speed Bomber

Published:
Company: Meng Model

The Me-410 was a German heavy fighter/bomber used by the Luftwaffe during WWII. It was one of the very few bombers that could outrun Allied interceptors and bomb Britain. it was also utilized as an interceptor due to it's speed.

To start things off, Meng has done a superb job concerning detail and quality of this kit.

The kit is comprised of 289 pieces. Each sprue is individually wrapped, as are the photo-etched and clear parts. The big surprise to me was that there is zero "flash" on any of the parts. Well done Meng!

The build went smoothly, and the fit of all parts was relatively precise. I used almost no filler during the build, which I'm very pleased with!

I ran into only one small problem while joining the fuselage halves together. This pertains to… more
