Welcome to the IPMS/USA Reviews site!

Introduction: The primary organization of the IPMS/USA Review website is by IPMS/USA National Contest Class. Within each Class there are sub-menus by kits, decals, books, etc. The Miscellaneous Class is for items that are not class specific or that cross two or more classes.

IPMS/USA Members: We encourage you to submit reviews, both here and to the Journal. To volunteer for membership in the IPMS/USA "Reviewers Corps" and submit your own reviews, please read the Guidelines For Submitting Product Reviews.

Manufacturers, publishers, and other industry members: IPMS/USA is pleased to offer your company the opportunity for product reviews. All product reviews are performed by IPMS/USA members, and are posted in the publicly-accessible section of our website. With very few exceptions, we perform full build reviews of new kit releases, aftermarket products, and supplies. If you would care to provide product samples for review, please contact John Noack, IPMS/USA 1st VP.

Another in ICM’s range of paint sets, this time for use with any WWII US armoured vehicles.

The set contains the following 12ml paint pots; I have listed what I believe to be their intended uses, with designations from Specification 3-1 1943:

  • 1041 Buff – Sand No.306 or Earth Yellow No.305
  • 1027 Gun Metal Metallic – tracks
  • 1071 Camouflage Green – Light Green No.321
  • 1072 US Dark Green – Olive Drab No.319
  • 2005 Black Primer – Black No.10
  • 1001 White – White No.11

The back of the box has a couple of drawings showing suggested uses for each colour.

Yahu has been producing photoetched instrument panels for models in Poland since 2013, for those who may not be familiar with the company. One of their latest releases is this 1/32 scale instrument set for the Fokker Dr.1 triplane from Meng. While the Dr.1 did not have a panel of instruments, there were individual instruments mounted within and outside the cockpit. Modelers with some experience with photoetched parts should have no issues using this set with their triplane.

Paint colors used by Japan during WWII are elusive and always seem to be up for debate. ICM has added a set of Imperial Japanese Navy colors to their range of acrylic paint sets.

This set is packaged in a small rectangular box with images of the colors printed on the front. The back of the box features a profile of a Japanese ship with color call outs. This set includes five 12ml bottles of color and 1 17ml bottle of clear gloss. The bottles have twist-off caps and the opening is big enough to allow a popsicle stick to be used to mix the paint.

The colors in this set are as follows:

Euro Decals has provided the IPMS/USA reviewer corps with a wonderful decal set for the WWII Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb. Though there is no specific mention of a preferred model company, it coincides with Arma Hobby’s Hurricane Mk.IIb kit production.

This 1/72 decal sheet covers eight (8) schemes:

This review covers the final pack (pack 12) of the Agora Models Jaguar build. Please see parts 1 through 4 of this review for the first 11 packs and more information about the kit.

At long last, we have reached the final pack of this build, and it’s a doozy. Aside from having a fair number of new pieces to add to the model, we will also be bringing together all the various sub-assemblies that are currently littering our workspace or residing in containers nearby. Speaking of workspace, you will want to make sure you have plenty of it. I had to rearrange and tidy up the space I had before embarking on this final pack, and I could have used slightly more space.
