Welcome to the IPMS/USA Reviews site!

Introduction: The primary organization of the IPMS/USA Review website is by IPMS/USA National Contest Class. Within each Class there are sub-menus by kits, decals, books, etc. The Miscellaneous Class is for items that are not class specific or that cross two or more classes.

IPMS/USA Members: We encourage you to submit reviews, both here and to the Journal. To volunteer for membership in the IPMS/USA "Reviewers Corps" and submit your own reviews, please read the Guidelines For Submitting Product Reviews.

Manufacturers, publishers, and other industry members: IPMS/USA is pleased to offer your company the opportunity for product reviews. All product reviews are performed by IPMS/USA members, and are posted in the publicly-accessible section of our website. With very few exceptions, we perform full build reviews of new kit releases, aftermarket products, and supplies. If you would care to provide product samples for review, please contact John Noack, IPMS/USA 1st VP.

PJ Productions produces kits and resin accessories in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales. Earlier this year, it released a series of accessories for the Mirage III/V aircraft in 1/72 scale.

There are only two parts to this set, the RP 825 centerline fuel tank and a pylon designed to fit the Mirage III C or E. The parts are molded in cream colored resin and are nicely molded with good panel line detail. The pour stub on the pylon is easily removed with either a razor saw or by simply wiggling the pylon (as I did). The attachment cleans up very easily with a sanding stick.

The Fw-200 was an all-metal four-engine airplane that was originally designed as an airliner. As World War II broke out, it was modified for use for long-range maritime patrol, reconnaissance and as an anti-shipping patrol bomber in addition to a transport. This airplane has been modeled twice in 1/72 scale by Revell but recently Trumpeter have added the airplane to their line-up. The Trumpeter kit is a great improvement on the Revell kits in both detail and accuracy but as always, Aires/Quickboost have found some areas to improve the kit.

AoA (Angle of Attack) decals: Initially focusing on Marine Air, AoA now branches out to other services and nationalities, in this case the T-28B/C/D, armed COIN (COunter INsurgency) ground attack aircraft…We sincerely appreciate their sending IPMS/USA their latest releases for review! (…and the usual thanks also to IPMS USA Reviewer corps leadership for providing me them to review)

This sheet Follows AoA’s standard of releasing several interesting subjects with ability to model at least two aircraft; in this case, decals for 18 different aircraft are provided. Printed by Microscale, the colors were aligned and spot-on; density was not a problem, and unlike other aftermarket decals, were very flexible. As much as I like a certain other company’s products, they sometimes are rather thick and require a firm hand plus solvent to snuggle to detail. Microscale does not have this problem, and the adhesive properties plus flexibility mean they stay in place.
