The Great War Aviation Society 2026 Calendar
The non-profit UK based group known as the Great War Aviation Society publishes their journal, Cross & Cockade International, four times a year. Issues are available in English as printed [Softbound, A4 (8.27” x 11.69”), 80 pages plus centerfold] as well as digital copies (or both). A new magazine, Contact!, is now available in both print and digital download. The Society also provides a free newsletter (sign up on their website) and occasionally publish WWI themed books like the Sopwith Dolphin monograph I reviewed earlier for IPMS USA. This Journal is the sister of the US Journal, Over The Front. The Great War Aviation Society also hosts a lecture series available through Zoom. If interested, you will need to register early as the call is limited in attendance. The Great War Aviation Society also is on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheGreatWarAviationSociety and on X [Twitter]: https://x.com/GWAS1914_1918/status/1591734868114825219
This is the 27th edition of The Great War Aviation Society [Cross & Cockade International] calendar for 2026. Roger Tisdale has assembled this calendar since 1999 and it continues to sell out annually. Roger notes, “It’s a labor of love compiling the annual calendar, making sure that there is an eclectic mix of aircraft and styles to suit all tastes.” Roger Tisdale has selected twelve color paintings from a set of fantastic artists.
The calendar is bound on a spiral ring holder with a center loop that will easily fit a traditional picture hanger, push pin, or nail head. The A4 [8.27” x 11.69”] size remains the same as the 2025 Calendar. These paintings are quite suitable for framing, but to date, I have managed to keep my calendars intact. It seems I am an incurable collector. All profits go towards the ongoing maintenance of the British Air Services Memorial at St Omer. This memorial was erected by the society in 2004 to commemorate the 8,000 airmen who gave their lives in France and Flanders during WW1.
